They all got to go home for Thanksgiving--and they took their teammates with them. What the Bulldogs hoped would be NCAA prep instead turned into a chance to spend the holiday together.
The last time Yale visited Brown in the Ivy League finale two years ago, everything was at stake for the Bulldogs. A win would've forced a tie for first place and sent Yale to a playoff with Cornell for the chance to go to a second straight NCAA Tournament. Instead, a five-game victory by the Bears sent the Big Red to the NCAA Tournament as outright Ivy champs. There won't be nearly as much at stake when the Bulldogs (15-7, 9-4 Ivy) and Bears (7-16, 5-8 Ivy) meet Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Pizzitola Center. That's because Princeton has already clinched the Ivy League championship.

Princeton clinched the Ivy League title on Friday night, but that didn't make Saturday's match with Yale completely meaningless. The Bulldogs were playing for their 10th Ivy League win, which would've marked the fourth straight season Yale reached that mark, as well as the satisfaction of snapping their three-match losing streak against the Tigers and ruining Princeton's perfect season in the process. Yale was also looking to go 7-0 at home in conference play for the first time ever. And it was Senior Day at the John J. Lee Amphitheater. Unfortunately, the Tigers kept rolling. Princeton (21-3, 13-0 Ivy) captured its 19th straight victory with a 30-27, 25-30, 30-24, 30-22 win over the Bulldogs (15-7, 9-4 Ivy) in Yale's final home match of the season.
