Originally from Vermont, Laura attended the Peddie School in New Jersey. She was captain of the team her senior year and led the team to a second place finish at the Eastern Championships. She began high school as a backstroker and has expanded to distance free and IM. Upon entering Yale, she had seven junior cuts and a US Open cut. She was a high school All-American in her individual events during her senior year as well as a member of the NJ All State first team.

Laura loved her freshman year at Yale. She got a chance to explore other events besides distance freestyle and looks forward to continuing her versatility in her sophomore year. She posted 3/3 best times at the Ivy Championships and placed in the top 10. Outside of swimming, she is enjoying the rigorous academic and social aspects of Yale.

Laura chose Yale because she feels that it is the perfect environment to work hard and also have fun. In her spare time. She enjoys fishing and swimming in Lake Champlain.
