FINAL RESULTS
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday: 8 races were sailed in each division in a steady 5-15 knot easterly. Course W4's most of the day with a sprinkle of triangles as the wind increased. Numerous general recalls early in the day due to the favorable upwind current. One redress was granted and one protest was disallowed. Many thanks To Mike O'Connor, the Perkins family and Coast Guard for loaning powerboats to have coaching available on the water. Also thanks to Meredith Killion, Clay Johnson and Emily Hill for judging.
Sunday: The final six races were completed in absolutely beautiful sailing conditions. The day started with a moderate 8-10 knot easterly wind which built throughout the day maxing out at 18 during the last B set. The seas were great for off the wind surfing with around 2-3 foot waves. Course W4's were sailed mostly in the morning then switching to triangular course 5's and 6's. Again many thanks to Mike O'Connor, The Coast Guard Academy and the Perkins family for letting us use their power boats and also thanks to our fine judges of the day, Meredith Killion and Clay Johnson. No protest were filed and one boat breakdown was quickly replaced with another. Congratulations to BC, Tufts, Brown, Yale and BU for qualifying for the Women's Nationals in Newport, RI.
