SEATTLE, Wash. - After a Friday with no breeze, Jane Macky '09 almost rode the west coast's cool weekend southerly to victory in the ICSA Women's Singlehanded Championships, finishing second in the Regatta in Seattle.
Without any wind on Friday, Day One of the Regatta was pushed back to Saturday. Macky figured to be in good position heading into Sunday's races, finishing the first day tied for second with the Coast Guard's Krysta Rohde '11, with a 41-point total in 10 races.
Rohde, however, overcame the eight-point defecit to Old Dominion's Katrina Williams '10 to emerge with the win on Sunday. Macky finished with a solid 61-point total over 17 races, second to Rohde's 53-point total.
Williams finished third with a 71-point total.
Yale will return home to close out its fall schedule this weekend with the 21st Atlantic Coast.
