Despite various injuries, Kivisto competed in every meet of her rookie season, including six times in the all-around. At the team's opening quad meet at URI, she scored a 9.7 on beam to earn ECAC Rookie of the Week honors, followed by the ECAC Coaches' Choice Award a mere two weeks later. Kivisto proved to be solid on all four events throughout the season, as highlighted by her performance at the Towson tri-meet where she scored above a 9.5 on all four events and finished with a career high 38.3 in the all-around. At the ECAC Championships, Kivisto received a 9.775 on beam, earning her 3rd place.
Kivisto joined the Bulldogs from American Twisters. She was a four-time Level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals qualifier, where she was 2004 beam champion and placed 2nd in the all-around. At the Region VIII Championships, she has placed 2nd and 3rd in the all-around, as well as 2nd on vault. Kivisto graduated from Spanish River Community High School and was a member of the varsity weight-lifting team.
