KANE'OHE, Hawaii - The women's golf team kicks off its spring season Monday at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii. The three-day tournament at the Kane`ohe Klipper Golf Course features three teams in the top 10. Arizona State is the highest ranked team at No. 3 in the country, followed by Arizona at No. 6 and Oklahoma State at No. 7.
Rounding out the 16-team field are Columbia, Gonzaga, Hawai`i, Hawai`i-Hilo, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, Montana State, Nagoya, Osaka Gakuin, San Diego State, UTEP, Wyoming and Yale.
All eight Yale golfers will compete. Yale's five-person team will include Lindsay Hong, Ellen Brophy, Natasha Spackey, Erica Im and Cassie Boles. Alyssa Roland, Harriet Owers-Bradley and Taylor Lee will compete as individuals.
"Overall the team looks good," said head coach Chawwadee Rompothong. "We were able to get in a week of good practice. The weather has been great and we are looking forward to this event."
The event will start Monday with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
