BUENOS AIRES - After a day of travel, we finally made it to Argentina! We were introduced to our tour guides, Phil and Maria, and exchanged our dollars for pesos. We dropped off our luggage at the Hotel Concorde and headed out to watch some local high-level field hockey. For the first time we saw boys and girls, young and old, carrying around field hockey sticks and even wearing turf shoes, identical to our own. Even the local restaurant, Family, used a field hockey stick to replace the letter "l" in its title. After watching the Primera A Division hockey match, we made our way to our first authentic Argentine dinner at Tierra de Parrilleros Restaurant in Puerto Madero. It was our first taste of Argentine beef and what a taste it was. One of our courses was a platter of meat, consisting of liver, kidney, intestine and blood sausage. Mmm! After a leisurely walk back to the hotel, we settled in for the night, excited for the week to come.
