Coach Stuper: "Alyssa is one of a few forwards who know how to cleanly eliminate her opponent on a 1v1. Her defense as a forward has improved, which has made her an even stronger player on both sides of the ball. Her ability to read the game is the best on the forward line. High School: Led Crofton House to three medals at AA Provincials, including gold as a sophomore ... Served as co-captain her senior year when the team won silver ... Won the Margot Thompson Cup for athletic skill, determination and passion along with the All-rounder Athlete Award ... Led her team in scoring as a junior with 21 goals ... Played for Team BC at Junior Canadian Nationals for two years, including a stint as captain of the U16 team in 2004 ... Also played five years of basketball in high school.
Why Yale? I fell in love with the rich atmosphere, interesting people, gorgeous campus, the residential colleges and the awesome field hockey team.
Favorite food: Ice cream and French fries, preferably together

Where I would like to travel: Egypt
Best Yale field hockey moment: On our away trip to Penn we got lost trying to find the fields and when we got to the field later that evening for a practice before our game the following day it started to downpour hard. We all hit the ball hard against the backboard to hear the echo of the ball hitting the goal. On the bus ride from the field we danced and sang all the way back. Field hockey moments like that are why I love field hockey and my teammates so much.
