At Darien High School, Amanda played varsity lacrosse and volleyball. She captained her lacrosse team to a state championship in 2003 and also won state and regional championships with her volleyball team.

At Yale, Amanda rowed for the JV in 2006, finishing second at Eastern Sprints and 10th at NCAAs. She also finished first in the Championship Eight at Canadian Henley in 2006.

Amanda is a senior in Jonathan Edwards College.
