Rebecca rowed for the Long Beach Junior Crew during high school. In 2002, her team had an undefeated season, winning at the Brentford Regatta and at Junior Regionals. In 2005, she was in the eight that finished eighth at US Nationals - the first time Long Beach Junior Crew had qualified for Nationals in 12 years. Finally, in 2006, she was won her team's "winning more than races" award for outstanding character.

At Yale, Rebecca is a sophomore Anthropology major in Trumbull College. During her freshman year, she rowed in the freshman eight.
