During high school, Emily rowed with the Orlando Area Rowing Society. In 2004 she rowed in the 4+ that won a gold medal at Scholastic Nationals. She also rowed in the 4- that finished fourth at the Junior World Championships in Banyoles, Spain the same year.

At Yale, Emily rowed in the Yale boat which finished 6th in the Championship Eight division at the Head of the Charles in 2005. Then in the spring of 2006, as a freshman, she rowed on the Yale 2V that finsihed second in Eastern Sprints. During the summer of 2006, Emily won a gold medal at Canadian Henley.

Emily is a sophomore in Morse College. She is majoring in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
