Gerrand alternated her rowing between her hometown Manning River Rowing Club and the Pymble Ladies College for her final two years of school. At Pymble, she won numerous awards and won the prestigious Head of the River two years in a row in the schoolgirl eight. She has won two gold medals in the Australian National Schoolgirl Eights, two gold medals in the Australian National Double Scull, one gold in the U17 Australian National Single Scull and most recently won the U19 Australian National Single Scull as well as earning a bronze in the U19 Double Scull.

She is a freshman in Ezra Stiles College.
