NEW HAVEN, Conn.--Former Yale women's basketball star Erica Davis '07 completed her first professional season by leading Esperides/Glyfada Kalitheas to its third straight Greek Cup. Davis had 17 points in her team's 67-53 victory over Appolon Ptolemaidos in the Cup final and was named Final Four MVP.
Esperides finished the regular season in first place with a 20-4 record. Davis played in 22 games, averaging 10.8 points and 7.6 rebounds. She also had 11 blocks, 25 steals and shot .536 from the field.
A three-time All-Ivy selection, Davis was named to the First Team following her senior season at Yale. As a senior, she led the conference in rebounding (9.0), field goal percentage (.532) and blocks (2.25) and placed third in scoring (15.6 ppg). Davis is Yale's all-time leader with 182 blocks. She also ranks seventh on the Bulldogs' all-time scoring list with 1,262 points and is fifth with 670 career rebounds.
While at Yale, Davis also competed as a thrower on the track & field squad. She is the school outdoor record-holder in the shot put and holds both the Yale and Ivy League record in the discus throw. As a senior, she was named First Team All-Ivy in the shot put and Second Team All-Ivy in the discus. She also won the ECAC Championship and competed in the NCAA Regionals in 2007 before moving on to her professional basketball career.
