Irvine, CA - The Bulldogs (4-5) dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 57 UC Irvine (6-7) Friday. Freshman Calvin Bennett and junior Josh Lederman won for the Bulldogs in the loss.

Sophomore Connor Dawson and junior Jeff Dawson won at No. 2 doubles 8-4, but the Bulldogs came up short of the doubles point. Bennett and Lederman lost in a tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles.

Bennett cruised to a straight set 6-1, 6-3 victory over Khunpol Issara at No. 3 singles. Lederman won his match for the second straight day. At No. 6 singles, Lederman pulled out a 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 victory over Zac Tsai.

Yale will battle San Diego State Saturday at 1 p.m.
