Tom came off the bench to post a 5-5 overall singles record (2-1 dual match record), and an excellent 7-4 doubles record playing with four different partners. Tom represented Yale in two tournaments during his freshman year and went 2-4 in singles matches. Tom is a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete. Prior to Yale, Tom won the 77th Annual CIAC Connecticut State High School Singles Championship. He is one of the top junior players from New England and was ranked among the top 100 junior players nationally. He graduated second in his class at East Lyme High School.
