Mike had a tremendous sophomore season, moving up to the No. 2 slot and leading the team with 23 singles victories and 22 doubles wins. He went 6-1 during the Ivy League season and earned First Team All-Ivy honors in singles. Mike had a solid freshman campaign, going 18-18 in singles and 12-12 in doubles. That year he played in the top four in singles in every dual match and played primarily in the No. 2 doubles position with Brandon Wai. Prior to Yale, Mike won the Southern California Junior Doubles Championship in 2004 and finished that year ranked No. 74 in the country in singles in the 18 & under division. He has won numerous sportsmanship awards throughout his junior career. He is a graduate of La Costa High School.
