Cambridge, MA - The Bulldogs held third place with 623 points at the end of day two at the EISL Championships Friday in Cambridge, Mass. Junior Alex Righi took his second first place finish in as many days with a first place finish in the 100-yard backstroke.
Righi led the way for the Bulldogs for the second straight day. Righi's time of 47.95 in the 100-yard backstroke topped the nearest competition by over a second and earned the Bulldogs 32 points.
The Bulldogs took second place in the 200-yard medley relay to earn 56 points for the team. Righi, junior Matt Sweitzer, junior Chris Pool, and freshman Ege Gurdeniz combined for a time of 128.81 to ensure the second place finish.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Pool and fellow junior Tyler Scheid came up with sixth and eight place finishes, respectively. Pool's sixth place finish in a time of 48.84 earned the Bulldogs 24 points. Scheid's eighth place finish in a time of 49.97 earned Yale 22 points.
Sophomore Craig Steen, senior Colin Stalnecker and Sweitzer took 9th, 11th, and 12th places in the 100-yard breaststroke. The trio earned Yale a combined 51 points in the race.
The Bulldogs will conclude competition at the EISL Championships Saturday with the 1650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard fly, 3-meter diving, and 400-yard free relay.
