Coming to Yale from Lynchburg, Va., Reid swam for E.C. Glass High School and set school records in the 200 and 500 freestyle events. He captained the squad his senior year and was state runner-up. Reid also swam for the Central Virginia YMCA, where he excelled in freestyle, butterfly, and individual medley.

In his freshman year at Yale, Reid swam butterfly and individual medley events throughout the season. In addition to his work in the pool, Reid took a wide variety of classes, although he has still not decided upon a major. In his free time, Reid enjoys watching sports and hanging out with his teammates.
