Growing Up with Harry: Stories of Character by Sherman Baldwin '86 details the life lessons he learned from his father Harry Baldwin '53, a guard on the Yale varsity football team in 1951 and 1952 who passed away from Lou Gehrig's disease. Sherman Baldwin played varsity baseball and soccer for Yale.

Baldwin's first book, Ironclaw, was about his experience as a Navy carrier pilot in the first Gulf War. The book was published by William Morrow & Company in hardcover and by Bantam for the mass market in paperback.
