At Pine Crest, Lucas was a member of his crew team for two years. At Junior World Championships, his coxed four boat finished fourth, and his school's eight finished in fifth. Lucas has also twice been selected to the USA Junior National Team for crew.

At Yale, Lucas is a sophomore in Ezra Stiles College. He intends to major in History, and after graduating he would like to pursue a career in law. His interests include basketball and NFL Blitz for Nintendo 64.
