At Thomas Jefferson, Nolan captained his crew team and was also a member of the swimming team. His crew team won three state and two national championships and competed at Henley Royal Regatta in both 2004 and 2006. Nolan was also named to the Washington First Team All-Met in 2005 and 2006.

Nolan is currently a sophomore in Pierson College. He intends to be a Chemistry major.
