Former professional shortstop John Dorman is in his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Bulldogs. Dorman graduated from the University of Richmond, where he was a four-year starting shortstop, in 1996. After graduation, he played professionally in the Cleveland Indians and New York Mets organizations from 1997-2002. Dorman spent his final pro season with the Bridgeport Bluefish.

Also a sports teacher and assistant athletic director at Fairfield Country Day School, Dorman came to Yale from Marist College, where he coached the catchers and infielders. He also coached hitting and coordinated recruiting.
