Fowle Trophy NEISA Team Race Championships Brown University May 3-4, 2008
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS: Saturday: Fifty-two total races completed in a light Easterly, ranging from 4 to 8 knots. Twelve teams were seeded into two groups of 6 - each group sailed a round robin with the top four moving on to the first of two Gold Fleet round robins with eight teams. Records against teams that advanced carried over. The first Gold Fleet round robin was completed, as was the consolation round. One Gold Fleet round and the Final Six remains to be sailed tomorrow. Very close racing.
Sunday: Forty-three more races to complete the double Gold Fleet round robin and the Final Six. A stronger (and earlier) than forecast northerly of 5-10 knots made for good racing. Final qualifying spot determined in last race.
Congratulations to Boston College, Brown, and Harvard for qualifying nationals.
