GRAD-PRO SPRING VOLLEYBALL - LEAGUE
INFORMATION
Welcome to Grad-Pro Spring Volleyball. After you read this information
please check the schedule to ensure that your name and phone and
the team nickname are correct. During the short spring season
all teams play a four game schedule followed by championship playoffs.
Please check the schedule carefully to confirm you playing days
and times.
Because of the myriad users' requests all courts and times for
the volleyball season have been reserved and cannot be altered.
So, consider the regular season and championship playoff schedules
'unchangeable'. Even if you and your opponent agree to reschedule
your game and play at a different time, both teams will be assessed
the forfeit fee regardless of whether you informed this office
in advance. You have made a commitment to participate in the league
so please ensure that your team is at the court, warmed-up and
ready to play at the scheduled starting time. Refer to the Late
Policy in the rules for default and forfeit procedures.
All of your players must be listed on the team's registration
form. Using unlisted players is illegal and if an opponent protests
against such a player, then your team will forfeit the game, be
expelled from the league and lose it's forfeit deposit. New players
may be added to your roster during the regular season simply by
calling the Intramural Office no later than the Friday before
your game and leaving the team's name and league, and the
player's name. Important notes: All players must be Yale
affiliated and be members or guests of members (paying the daily
guest fee) of PWG; and, a player may play on only one team in
the competitive or co-recreational league.
Games are scheduled for Room H on the 5th floor. The standards
and nets must be setup prior to the start of play and any tension
in the nets should be relaxed at the conclusion of the contest.
If you have a problem setting up the nets contact the Building
Attendant on the first floor [phone 432-2474].
Volleyballs are available in the room. Also, any ice or emergency
first aid supplies can be obtained from the attendant at the Towel
Desk. In the event of a serious injury locate any gymnasium employee
or call (campus phone located on 4th Floor, main hall) the Yale
Police at 111 or 2-4400.
Throughout the season and the playoffs captains are responsible
to circle the name of the winning team and to record the score
on the schedules posted on the walls outside Room H or on the
bulletin board outside the Intramural Office.
Best of luck this season.
